About Cefpodoxime Tablet

Cefpodoxime is a potent third generation cephalosporin. Broad spectrum of antibacterial activity. It is similar in efficacy to parenteral ceftriaxone.

Cefpodoxime is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria such as bronchitis (infection of the airway tubes leading to the lungs); pneumonia; gonorrhea (a sexually transmitted disease); and infections of the skin, ear, sinuses, throat, tonsils, and urinary tract.

How to use this medication

Take this medication orally, usually every 12 hours or as directed by your doctor. If you are consuming tablet, take it with food to help increase the absorption of the drug.

The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. In children, the dose is also based on weight.

Continue to take this medicine until the full prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping its consumption too early may result in a return of the infection.
